Background
It is said that, once upon a time some Hindu Sahas from Pabna and Daulatpur areas came to this area to do business by river and started business permanently. At that time this area was under Gobindaganj police station. Later, in about 1902, a police station was established in this area on the initiative of traders living in Sahagan. This police station was named Sahaghata after the Sahagas. Which in course of time came to be known as Saghata.
